Idle: Windows 7 Aero sitting at the desktop (1280x1024, 32-bit) with all windows closed and drivers installed. Our results were based on the following tests: Power consumption results of other cards on this page are measurements of the respective reference design. We chose Crysis 2 as a standard test representing typical 3D gaming usage because it offers the following: very high power draw high repeatability is a current game that is supported on all cards because of its DirectX 9 roots drivers are actively tested and optimized for it supports all multi-GPU configurations test runs in a relatively short time and renders a non-static scene with variable complexity. Again, the values here only reflect the power consumption of the card measured at DC VGA card inputs, not of the whole system. A Keithley Integra 2700 digital multimeter with 6.5-digit resolution was used for all measurements. An optimized fan-profile is also one of the few things that board vendors can do to impress with reference designs where they are prohibited from making changes to the thermal solution or components on the card.įor this test, we measured the power consumption of the graphics card only via the PCI-Express power connector(s) and PCI-Express bus slot. It reads 12.192 and 5.1, rock steady - no fluctuations The card was replaced with a re-furbished card under warranty and I've tried a new PSU as well.Power ConsumptionCooling modern video cards is becoming more and more difficult, especially with users asking for a quiet cooling solution, which is why engineers are now paying much more attention to the power consumption of new video-card designs. EVGA GTX 770 I've also re-installed Windows 10 and the drivers, and checked the PSU voltage via the BIOS monitoring tools. ![]() It still crashes, but does not crash if the graphics card is removed. I've reinstalled the game and have tried running it clean and with known safe 'mods'. Willjo007 I'm having exactly the same problem with WoT. You could always have the card tested at your local computer repair shop. I don't have another machine or equivalent card to test. The power rails are rock steady in the ranges described. I bought the pieces in batch in Jan 2014. Is my card just dead/dying? Appreciate any thoughts.īigchughes EVGA 770 i5 4670K Haswell 2 Corsair 8GB SSR3 ASUS Maximus VI Gene LGA Corsair RM series RM850W Plus a couple of Samsung SSDs Driving an LG 34UM95-P That is everything in the system. It helped me diagnose a stuck fan on the previous card. So I know it has run successfully and correctly. I have run this before when I was running Win 7 and even after I first migrated to Win 10. Ran the benchmark again with the same results. I know you will think I am crazy but the screen seemed to look crisper afterward. So I followed the directions to a T, cleaned and then reinstalled. ![]() I just followed the really brilliant write-up by Sajin thinking Windows install, driver after driver, maybe it is crap. The temp is reported at 60degrees so not overheating. On its DX11 setting, immediate black screen and reboot. So tonight I downloaded the valley graphics benchmark. Nvidia driver crashed 5 times on the flight. I logged back into Wow and caught a simple bird flight. They had recently upgraded their graphics and I assumed they had some bugs, check the forums, others reported similar issues. They got worse until the game is unplayable. Across multiple driver versions, I started noticing that World of Tanks was misbehaving: periodic driver crashes, black screens requiring system reboots. I run Windows 10 and I have a 34" monitor being driven by a 770 GTX. My system has been running fine until recently. ![]()
